STEP-UP CERTIFICATES
Our Step-Up Certificates are designed to give you a one-time option to adjust the Annual Percentage Yield (APY) to the current rate offered by Progressions Credit Union on a certificate with the same term. This is a great benefit to you if the rates rise during the term of your certificate. There is no need to worry that you are missing out on the higher APY offered. Your certificate's original maturity date will not change, nor will your dividend rate decrease, in the event rates go down.

Minimum balance to qualify for a Step-Up is $25,000 and the minimum term is 36 months*.

Click here for more information. To open your Step-Up Certificate, contact us or apply online.

*Current Rates and Truth and Savings Disclosures for Certificates can be found here.

Contact us and ask to speak with a Mortgage Loan Officer or apply here today!
*NO COST DISCLOSURE: Third party fees will be waived with a minimum loan advance of $20,000.00. The waiver of these fees is conditioned on your account remaining open for at least 36 months. If you close your Home Equity Loan or HELOC within 36 months after the date your account is opened, the fee waiver will be revoked. The fee will be added to your principal balance and you must repay the total before we release our security interest in your property. Call for more information.

IT'S A MONEY THING
THE CHALLENGES OF CHOOSING A CAREER

"When I grow up, I want to be a __________."

It's an age old question but depending on who you are, filling in the blank can be an exciting, troubling, or outright confusing task. When you are in kindergarten, filling in the blank is awesome, because at that age, dinosaur and superhero are perfectly viable career options. When you are in high school, filling the the blank can be motivating because it takes all your talents and interests and captures them in a single goal that you can pursue through high school and past graduation day. When you are an adult, filling in the blank can be be a little bit terrifying because that could mean you're now a grown-up - whether you feel like one or not - and here you are, still secretly looking for ideas.

Check out the video below for more on how choosing a career is not as simple as it seems.
INVESTMENT SERVICES
MAKE THE MOST OF A 401(k) ROLLOVER WITH CFS

Most experts agree that what you do with your 401(k) assets when changing jobs or retiring can be one of the most important financial decisions you will ever make. You need vital information that allows you to make those important decisions that fit your current situation, investment time-frame, and long-term goals and objectives.

Jonna Damiano CFS* Financial Advisor is knowledgeable and committed to doing what is right for you and your unique situation.

A job change brings the opportunity to review your retirement savings strategy in light of your long-term goals, and to make changes that can improve your overall results. A Rollover Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is an excellent option to consider.

Rollover IRA's have features that may be superior to those of your former employer's qualified plan. For instance, while IRA's enjoy the same tax-deferred compounding as 401(k) plans, they typically offer a wider range of investment choices, and those could translate into a better retirement plan for you over the long term.

If you would like to learn more about the benefits of a Rollover IRA, and discuss the ways you can help improve your retirement savings strategy, contact Jonna Damiano to schedule a complimentary appointment. Call 509.323.1323 or email jonna.damiano@cusonet.com.
*Non-deposit investment products and services are offered through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. ("CFS"), a registered broker-dealer (Member FINRA/SIPC) and SEC Registered Investment Advisor. Products offered through CFS: are not NCUA/NCUSIF or otherwise federally insured, are not guarantees or obligations of the credit union, and may involve investment risk including possible loss of principal. Investment Representatives are registered through CFS. The Credit Union has contracted with CFS to make non-deposit investment products and services available to credit union members.
Before deciding whether to retain assets in an employer sponsored plan or roll over to an IRA, an investor should consider various factors including, but not limited to: investment options, fees and expenses, services, withdrawal penalties, protections from creditors and legal judgements, required minimum distributions, and possession of employer stock
ANNUAL MEETING RECAP
We had a great time visiting with members during our Annual Meeting that was held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 in the lobby of our main branch. There was food, door prizes, gifts, and special recognition of the 2 members in attendance who have been members the longest. They each received a gift card as a token of our appreciation. The Election Committee announced the following results from the election:
  • Board Position #5 - Jeff Martin
  • Board Position #6 - Steve Jones
  • Supervisory Committee - Jerry Descoteaux
We want to give a big THANK YOU to all of our volunteer Board and Supervisory Committee members for their time, dedication, and support.
25TH ANNUAL LETTER CARRIERS'
STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE
Saturday, May 13th, 2017 is the 25th Annual Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Progressions Credit Union is once again a proud sponsor of the collection effort in Spokane. Simply place non-perishable food by your mailbox on Saturday, May 13th. Your letter carrier and other volunteers will be by to pick it up. We will also have collection boxes at our main office and our north branch through May 13th. See our branch locations at the end of this newsletter.

This is the largest one-day food drive in America. In 2016, more than 80 million pounds of non-perishable food was collected across the country.

Many of our staff and their families will be out collecting food. We invite you to join the fight against hunger by donating non-perishable food. All the food collected in the Spokane area will benefit the 2nd Harvest Food Bank.

For more information about this event and how it affects our community, please watch the NALC YouTube video here.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Progressions Credit Union is committed to our community and that is why we recently taught classes on the importance of saving money and had a booth at the College and Career Fair at Steven's Elementary in April. The message at the fair was not only about the importance of getting an education and saving for it, but how to budget their money once they are earning it.

We also held a toy drive during the month of March and were able to provide some much needed new and gently used toys to the school.
