RSSLogix
RSSLogix allows the Credit Union Marketer to easily create a more powerful RSS feed than conventional RSS.
What is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is quickly gaining wide acceptance as another content delivery channel that is a peer to email. Rather than “Pushing” emails to subscribers RSS enables consumers to “Pull” information directly from web sites that they are interested in.
For instance, a Credit Union could offer RSS Feeds on topics such as
Press Releases
Rate Feeds
Employment opportunities
Promotions and News
RSS works by publishing your content in a single XML file on your web site. Subscribers “opt-in” to your RSS feed by accessing your web site through Desktops, Browsers or Mobile devices.
With RSS Consumers can subscribe to your feed anonymously and is completely 100% opt-in based. If someone wants to unsubscribe they simply remove the feed and will not receive information from you in the future.
RSS will not replace email, but will give consumers and marketers alike a choice. Some communications may be more appropriate to deliver via Email while others over RSS, or both.
Spam and Phish-Proof
With Email consumers can receive unwanted email communications (spam) as well as phishing attempts. This is why it is so critical that a Credit Union provide some level of Anti-Phishing technology as part of their e-marketing strategies.
RSS is much different because it “pulls” updates from known and trusted sources that you have subscribed to. This means that you only receive the communications that you want.
Conventional RSS
The typical and conventional RSS methodology is to create one Feed that everyone will receive content from. Those that are interested simply subscribe to your Feed, and receive updates from the same single Feed. There is no personalization and the content can not vary depending on subscriber. Reporting of subscriber base activity can also be difficult to accurately track.
Individualized RSS
Individualized RSS (IRSS) is very different from conventional RSS in that each subscriber receives their own personal Feed.
IRSS gives greater power to allow for personalization to take place similar to a personalized email campaign. In addition, reporting and tracking of activity can be accomplished similar to tracking email campaign activity.
With IRSS comes many new challenges, and your web-site must be highly scalable to provide for high levels of recurring traffic that is much greater than traditional email campaigns. Creating content can be even more challenging since the content is based in XML format.
RSSLogix was designed to take these challenges and others out of the equation. In fact, RSSLogix comes with advanced editors for creating content as well as creating your subscriber enrollment form.
For consistency and ease of use RSSLogix integrates with the DocuMatix Email Manager. When you create a campaign you have the choice of publishing your content as an email or RSS Feed. This makes the learning curve almost non-existent because you are able to utilize tools that you are already familiar with.
